SBA Walks in Support of B-Strong
On Friday, April 22, SBA students participated in the B-Strong Walk in support of brain tumor research. Students and staff walked a 5 km route around the neighbourhood to raise awareness for this worthy cause, which was started by Lindsey Bolger, a former SBA student who died of brain cancer.
In the weeks leading up to the walk, SBA students sold B-Strong merchandise and raised money. In addition, some of our students, as well as Mr. Pivato and Mr. Bolger, visited Lindsay’s former doctor at Princess Margaret Hospital. Our students were incredibly dedicated and raised a total of $8,000 in support of B-Strong.
To celebrate our school’s dedication to the cause, we will have a civvies day on Thursday, May 5.
The 11th annual B-Strong walk in Markham was held on Sunday, April 24. For more information about B-Strong, visit http://www.bstrong.ca.
